About the job
Responsibilities:
Organizes and coordinates the repairs / installations of parts and equipment for the communication and navigation electronic equipment onboard the vessels.
Compares all malfunctions, repairs and evaluations and proposes suitable, economic and efficient troubleshooting solutions.
Organizes and monitors the maintenance, servicing and proper operating condition onboard of the Navigation and Communication Electronic Equipment.
Arranges all Radio/VDR annual surveys.
Cooperates with MSQ, purchasing, technical and accounting staff regarding Radio/Nav issues, requisitions and payments.
Provides equipment and service support for the navigation products to the vessels and superintendent engineers.
Communicates with important suppliers and tracks the respective contracts.
Checks incoming requisitions for spares, related to navigation communication electronic equipment, in cooperation with the purchasing department and ensures for prompt delivery onboard.
Qualifications / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree on Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a shipping company.
Master’s degree and experience as Repair and Installation Technician or Radio Surveyor will be considered an asset.
Knowledge of Marine Communication Systems.
Fluency in English.
Compute Literate.
Excellent communication & organization skills.
