Responsibilities:

• Assists and provides support to the Technical Superintendents in organizing, coordinating, monitoring and following-up outstanding items related to the projects.
• Assists in organizing new projects and also maintains project plans and project schedules.
• Provides technical support and any additional technical documentation and assistance to shipboard personnel for the proper operation and maintenance of the vessels’ machinery and equipment.
• Communicates with service providers and / or workshops if necessary, prepares comparison lists and submits for approvals, checks the invoices and closes the cases.
• Travels abroad and visits the vessels to monitor the project’s progress, budget, scope and scheduling.
• Familiarizes and updates new shipboard personnel that may need to deal with any ongoing (or forthcoming) projects.
• Inputs the various technical information, service reports in the company’s system, as well as information related to purchasing, invoicing, certification and various technical matters.
• Checks project-related invoices, obtains the necessary approvals and follows-up with their payment.
• Assists in arrangement of the new equipment certification upon completion of installation and also files all forms and any relevant technical documentation.
•  Follows-up on vessels’ technical correspondence.
• Provides any other related assistance as required by the Project Manager or the Technical Director.

Qualifications / Experience:

• University degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• Post-graduate studies in relevant field will be considered an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the technical department of a shipping company.
• Fluency in English.
• Compute literate.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously within strict deadlines.  
• Travel mobility.
