Responsibilities:
Performs shipyard cost analysis by comparing various recent or extra DD quotations.
Creates and maintains a database with offers in order to be used for shipyard negotiations.
Assists the Senior D/D Coordinator in maintaining and monitoring the status of each N/B project through daily communication with site offices and the yards.
Contributes in the preparation of ship specifications taking into account all available information from ship and attendance reports.
Supports the Senior D/D Coordinator in coordinating the D/D scheduling in conjunction with the Operations and Technical Departments.
Compares various costs of supplies and services that appear during DD and keeps a record of the quotes received.
Assists in the plan approval process for new vessels and reviews ship’s plans as offered by consultants.
Qualifications / Experience:
A University degree in Engineering and/or Naval Architecture
A Master’s degree in Engineering, Shipping, Maritime Economics or Naval Architecture will be considered an asset.
Minimum 2 years of experience in the technical department and/or technical projects of a shipping company.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Fluency in English.
Computer literate.
