Eligibility Requirements

Greek Applicants

  • A relevant degree is required.
  • Must be registered in the official registry for private school teachers (Epetirida) or eligible for registration. International teaching qualifications do not confer Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for Greek candidates.

International Applicants

  • Must hold both a degree and a recognized teaching qualification from their country of citizenship.
  • UK candidates must have QTS and a Department for Education Teacher Reference Number.
  • The following are not recognized in Greece: iPGCE, TESOL, DELTA, or similar language teaching qualifications

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will work as part of a team with other childcare professionals (teachers, EYPs, subject leads, heads of school). They will also be adaptable, motivated by challenge, and an excellent classroom practitioner.

The person appointed will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, in order to foster caring, nurturing and positive relationships with pupils and their families.

The successful candidate must hold a UK (or equivalent) teaching qualification and be fluent in written and spoken English. A competitive remuneration package will be available for the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop continuous provision plans for child-led learning around children’s interests with a balance of adult-led objectives
  • Encourage learning through experience and inspire children to develop curiosity and knowledge.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment.
  • Aid the development of a child's personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities.
  • Work well with others, such as other teachers and/ or early years practitioners, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Share knowledge gained with other practitioners and build and maintain relationships with parents.
  • Observe, assess, and record each child's progress.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the setting.
  • Attend staff meetings and staff training days.
  • Keep up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and provide a safe learning environment.
