SCYTALYS is currently looking for a skilled System Network Engineer passionate about their field of work. As a System Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of secure network architectures for reference system and customer deployments, including IP planning, network segmentation, and firewall configuration.
The role involves translating system connectivity requirements into robust and secure network solutions, ensuring proper communication between systems while enforcing strict security controls.
What you'll do
Design and implement network architectures for customer deployments based on system connectivity requirements.
Develop IP addressing schemes and subnetting strategies for scalable and maintainable deployments.
Define and implements network segmentation using VLANs and security zones.
Configure and manage firewall rules (e.g. Cisco firewalls) based on least privilege and required communication flows.
Translate system-level communication requirements into network-level configurations (ports, protocols, routing).
Ensure secure integration of critical systems (e.g. Tactical Data Links, C2 systems, gateways).
Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis during integration and testing phases.
Support system integration, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
Document network architecture, configurations, and design decisions in accordance with company standards.
Collaborates with system, hardware, and integration-verification engineers to ensure end-to-end functionality.
Identify network-related risks and proposes mitigation strategies.
Support deployment, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
Provide technical support during system lifecycle phases (integration, delivery, maintenance, upgrades).
Contribute to technical proposals and network design solutions for RFIs/RFPs.
Continuously improve network design practices, security posture, and deployment processes.
What we expect from you
BSc or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Solid understanding of computer networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting).
Hands-on experience with network design, including VLANs, IP planning, and segmentation.
Experience configuring and managing firewalls.
Understanding of network security principles (least privilege, segmentation, access control).
Experience in troubleshooting network issues in complex environments.
Familiarity with Windows and Linux systems.
Ability to interpret system communication requirements and translate them into network configurations.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Fluent in English
