SCYTALYS is currently looking for a skilled Software Engineer passionate about their field of work.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop and maintain responsive, mission-critical web applications using React (front end) and Spring Boot (back end).

• Build reusable, modular components and services to ensure code reusability, maintainability, and scalability across the application stack.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs, data models and integration with databases or other back-end systems and interfaces.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — product managers, UI/UX designers, other engineers — to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help enforce high code quality and best practices.

• Communicate progress, challenges, design decisions and solutions clearly with team members and stakeholders (both technical and non-technical).

• Take ownership of features or modules from conception through deployment and maintenance, ensuring reliability, performance and security.

What we expect from you

Minimum (Mid-level):

• ~3+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development.

• Strong experience with React (or similar modern front-end frameworks).

• Solid experience with Java and Spring Boot (or equivalent) for back-end development.

• Good understanding of REST API design, database modeling and integration with SQL/NO SQL databases.

• Comfort working in a structured development workflow (e.g., version control, code reviews, branching, CI/CD).

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to code quality, maintainability and performance.

Senior-level:

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience, ideally building production-grade, mission-critical systems.

• Experience in designing and architecting scalable and maintainable systems (microservices or modular monoliths, depending on architecture).

• Experience with code architecture, design patterns, automated testing, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.

• Proactive mindset: ability to take initiative, identify technical debts or architectural improvements, mentor junior team members, and help raise the overall team’s technical level.

• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, both technically and to non-technical stakeholders; strong collaboration across teams.

Nice-to-have / Preferred

• Previous experience in defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical / high-reliability domains.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization (e.g. Docker / Kubernetes), automated deployments, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Experience with frontend state management, complex UI design, performance-sensitive rendering, and responsive design best practices.

• Experience with geospatial data, mapping libraries or real-time tracking.

• Familiarity with code quality, static analysis or linting tools.
