SCYTALYS is currently looking for a skilled Front-End Engineer passionate about their field of work. 

What you'll do 

• Design, develop and maintain responsive, mission-critical web application interfaces using React

• Build reusable, modular components to ensure code reusability, maintainability, and scalability across the front-end codebase

• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces

• Integrate with RESTful APIs and back-end services, ensuring efficient data flow and robust error handling on the client side

• Optimize application performance, rendering efficiency, and user experience across different browsers and devices

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams - product managers, UI/UX designers, back-end engineers - to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help enforce high code quality and best practices

• Communicate progress, challenges, design decisions and solutions clearly with team members and stakeholders (both technical and non-technical)

• Take ownership of features or modules from conception through deployment and maintenance, ensuring reliability, performance, and security

What we expect from you 

Minimum (Mid-level): 

• ~2+ years of professional experience in front-end web development

• Strong experience with React and its ecosystem (hooks, component lifecycle, routing)

• Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3

• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Query or similar)

• Hands-on experience writing automated tests using modern front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library)

• Solid understanding of REST API consumption, asynchronous programming, and integration with back-end services

• Familiarity with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility (WCAG) principles

• Comfort working in a structured development workflow (e.g., version control, code reviews, branching, CI/CD)

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to code quality, maintainability, and performance

Senior-level: 

• 5+ years of front-end development experience, ideally building production-grade, mission-critical user interfaces

• Experience in designing and architecting scalable and maintainable front-end systems (component libraries, design systems, micro-frontends or modular architectures)

• Experience with automated testing strategies across the testing pyramid - unit, integration, end-to-end (e.g., Cypress, Playwright) — and ability to define testing standards and coverage goals for a team 

• Experience with design patterns, performance optimization, and secure coding practices on the client side

• Proactive mindset: ability to take initiative, identify technical debts or architectural improvements, mentor junior team members, and help raise the overall team's technical level

• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, both to technical and non-technical stakeholders; strong collaboration across teams

Nice-to-have / Preferred 

• Previous experience in defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical / high-reliability domains

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and front-end build tooling (Webpack, etc.)

• Experience with complex UI design, data-dense dashboards, performance-sensitive rendering, and advanced responsive design techniques

• Experience with geospatial data, mapping libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers, Cesium) or real-time tracking and visualization

• Familiarity with code quality, static analysis or linting tools (ESLint, Prettier, SonarQube)

• Experience with WebSockets or other real-time communication technologies
