We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our team in Athens. As part of our Transformation Office team within Internal Firm Services, you will work closely with various departments to understand business needs and support our data initiatives. In this role, you will assist in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our business intelligence (BI) efforts. Your work will focus on supporting the design, development, and upkeep of our data warehouse, helping ensure data models are accurate and reliable, contributing to data quality checks and improvements, learning to use BI tools such as Power BI to help deliver insights that support decision-making

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of data infrastructure to facilitate reporting initiatives and enhance decision-making across the firm through actionable data insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into scalable data infrastructure solutions.
Assisting with the development and maintenance of data pipelines using SQL Server and Azure Data Factory to support seamless data integration and flow critical for BI activities.
Helping to maintain and optimize the data warehouse, gaining exposure to data modeling and ensuring reliability for analytics, reporting, and BI tools.
Perform data cleaning, transformation, and verification processes to maintain high data accuracy and reliability essential for BI analysis.
Use BI tools such as Power BI to create impactful reports and dashboards, providing data-driven insights that enhance business operations.
Support the troubleshooting and optimization of the data infrastructure to improve performance and scalability of BI solutions.
Engage in data migration and integration projects, ensuring reliable connectivity and transitions between data systems to bolster BI initiatives.

What you bring to the team:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
0-1 years of experience in a data engineering role with business intelligence understanding.
Understanding of SQL for writing queries, data retrieval, cleaning, and transformation.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, including experience with report creation and data visualization.
Basic knowledge of data modeling principles and ETL processes.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly in ensuring data quality and integrity.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders, both in Greek and English.
Business acumen and the ability to understand and respond to business needs through effective data infrastructure design.
