Due to the continued growth of our practices, we’re looking for an experienced professional to join our high-performing team in Athens. A career in ourGovernance, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit (GRC & IA) Consulting Services in PwC Greece, will provide you with the opportunity to gain understanding of the business environment, operations, and objectives of major financial institutions and large corporate entities. You will help clients solve their most pressing challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities via adopting leading GRC & IA practices, with a particular focus on the evolving Payments landscape.
As part of the GRC & IA department, the GRC & IA Payments team specializes in identifying and assessing risks and control frameworks across digital payments, card processing, instant payments, and other critical payment infrastructures. The team supports the design and implementation of controls aligned with European and global regulatory standards (e.g. PSD2, SEPA, EBA Guidelines), evaluates payment processes and technologies to ensure compliance, efficiency, and resilience, and provides consulting support to clients in interpreting regulatory requirements and advising on best practices. Additionally, the team contributes to the optimization of payment-related processes and control environments, leveraging analytics where possible to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.

You will be a part of a multidisciplinary team delivering internal audit, and consulting services to clients both in Greece and abroad. Evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls related to payment processes and systems.
Identifying emerging risks and vulnerabilities across digital and traditional payment channels.
Supporting in the performance of audits and assessments, delivering practical recommendations for improving controls, enhancing regulatory compliance, and mitigating risks.
Utilizing analytical tools to extract insights from transactional data related to payment operations

Develop policies and procedures relevant to payment operations or operational resilience.

Strong academic record including a Bachelor’s / Master’s degree from a Greek or foreign top-tier university in finance, economic science, mathematics, engineering or related field.
At least one (1) year of working experience in payment systems, banking operations, and related regulatory frameworks.
Excellent knowledge of English language.
Excellent computer skills, proficient use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Basic knowledge or hands-on experience with data analysis tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, QlikView, Tableau or similar will be considered as an advantage.
High motivation to try new tools to implement related capabilities.
Ability to be agile in changing circumstances both internally and externally.
Ability to work well as part of a multi-functional team with a flexible and team-focused style.
A confident and positive attitude, focused on teamwork and communication with colleagues and clients at all levels.
