About the job
As an Architect – Interior Designer at Public Group, you will be responsible for the end-to-end architectural and interior design of our stores, ensuring innovative, functional, and customer-centric retail environments.
This role is fully design-focused: from architectural planning to interior layout and furniture selection, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial, Marketing, and Retail teams to bring to life spaces that align with our brand identity and commercial strategy.
Responsibilities:
Design architectural layouts and interior concepts for new store openings, remodels, and refurbishments.
Develop floor plans, technical drawings, and 3D visualizations to present design concepts effectively.
Select materials, furniture, and interior finishes to create cohesive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
Collaborate with the Commercial and Retail teams to align store design with operational needs, customer journey optimization, and visual merchandising requirements.
Prepare all technical documentation required for permitting and construction handover.
Ensure design quality, brand consistency, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Research and introduce innovative materials, technologies, and sustainability practices for retail environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s degree or Civil Engineering background will be considered a plus).
Proven experience of at least 3 years in architectural and interior design, ideally in retail or commercial projects.
Strong technical skills with proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or 3ds Max is a plus.
Solid understanding of construction principles and building codes.
Strong aesthetic sense, with a portfolio showcasing both architectural and interior design projects.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with commercial, marketing, and operational teams.
Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and project reporting.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
