devops engineer

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join one of our teams as we continue to work on the next generation of online sports betting platforms. As a DevOps Engineer you’ll have exposure to these systems, as well as extensive training and mentoring as you take our solutions and your career to the next level. As a Software Engineer you will be working alongside with Software Engineers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, QAs, and Software Architects.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage, and expand our Kubernetes clusters as we evolve our journey. 

• Work with the TechOps team to ensure the live system is performant and has the necessary capacity for major events and other times of peak system stress. 

• Maintain and improve the in place GitOps-based deployment pipelines. 

• Maintain and deliver improvements to monitoring and alerting systems. 

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines  

• Participate in vulnerability management tasks. 

• Develop automation tools and scripts using languages including Go and Python. 

• Contribute to technical reviews and best practice sessions. 

Essential Skills: 

• 1 -2 years working with containerised environments using Kubernetes is essential 

• Familiarity with monitoring and altering tools

• Experience of incident investigations on live systems

• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools. 

• Strong familiarity with with these tools working on Linux 

• Working knowledge of one or more major programming languages

• A good understanding of relational databases and SQL

• Excellent teamwork skills within an agile team environment

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to peer groups

• A “can do” attitude and out-of-the-box thinking

• Able to deal with changing priorities and based on requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a traditional science subject, ideally
  computer science, engineering or information systems from a
  well regarded university;

Desirable skills:

• Experience with Rancher 

• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana

• Solid coding ability in Java and Python for automation and tooling. 

• Familiarity with relational databases. 

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders internally and with customers, being able to break down complex problems to the audience’s need. 

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and thrive in collaborative environments.
