The Commis Chef supports the kitchen brigade in food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
Support senior chefs during cooking and plating of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as instructed
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic inventory checks
Properly handle kitchen tools and equipment
Minimize waste and report shortages or quality issues to supervisors
Carry out additional kitchen tasks as assigned by senior chefs
