construction engineer (fixed-term / subcontractor-athens) (3695)

The Engineer’s role is to set the priorities for the construction execution focusing on the best utilization of the available resources, the effective response to potential bottlenecks and delays and the timely and efficient delivery of the project.

Your day to day will include:

• Reviewing the technical documents / certifications / licenses that are necessary for the execution of the construction services

• Reviewing the technical designs, proceeding to budget estimation, and providing support and guidance to the vendors and technicians for the accurate execution of the constructions

• Setting the priorities for the construction execution focusing on the best utilization of the available resources, the effective response to potential risks and the timely and efficient delivery of the project

• Coordinating implementation of design standards between the teams of internal – external engineers and agents

• Following-up and monitoring the execution progress of the project in terms of deliverables, budget, and time plan, while preparing relevant reports

• Assessing the quality of the deliverables from the vendors and validating their compliance with technical specifications, loan prerequisites and designs

• Monitoring and approving the actual store budgets for OPAP constructed stores

• Handling the resolution of technical issues providing necessary support and guidance

• Supporting other teams in on site front line roll out implementation on an ad hoc basis

• Reviewing the invoices submitted from the vendors and validating their compliance as per the work delivered

• Generating reports and providing information and insight regarding the project progress

• Liaising with government authorities, assisting with technical administration material

What you need to succeed:

• BSc in Civil Engineering, Architect, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

• MSc degree is desirable

• 4+ years of related hands-on experience in the management of construction projects

• Excellent knowledge of a design software (AUTOCAD)

• Excellent presentation and communication skills in both Greek and English (oral and written)

• Ability to supervise from small scale to large scale construction projects

• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

• Very good knowledge of architectural subject and related legal framework

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to travel and work across Greece

• Familiarity with Salesforce platform will be considered a plus

• Excellent organizational and project management skills

• Goal orientation with ability to deliver high quality results within strict deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Genuine team player mentality able to effectively interact with a diverse group of stakeholders
