What you'll do

Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Team Leadership and Incident Management skills
- Root Cause Analysis and Automation Scripting experience
- Monitoring Tools and Alerting Tools expertise
- Configuration Management with tools like puppet or ansible
- Relational and Non-Relational Databases knowledge
- Version Control systems experience like Git or Subversion
- CI/CD and Agile practices familiarity
- Java Frameworks such as Spring and JavaEE/JakartaEE
- Containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Linux operating system proficiency
- Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems Management / Relevant Topicpreferred

About the job
As a Team Leader of our Application Support Team, you will oversee the smooth operation and ongoing improvement of software systems developed by OPAP's internal Software Development Team. You will be guiding a team that delivers expert technical support, resolves application issues promptly, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance user satisfaction and system reliability.
Your day to day will include:
Leading and mentoring the application support team by supervising performance, fostering collaboration, and promoting creative thinking to enhance capabilities and achieve goals
Managing and prioritizing incidents, service requests, and problem tickets, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to SLAs
Performing root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinating permanent fixes for recurring application issues
Overseeing application monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues
Collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and environment stability
Maintaining and enhancing automation scripts and tools for monitoring, reporting, and routine support tasks
Ensuring application logs, performance metrics, and telemetry data are effectively used for diagnostics and optimization
Coordinating application upgrades, patches, and configuration changes, ensuring minimal disruption to users
Managing access controls, security configurations, and compliance requirements for supported applications
Documenting technical procedures, troubleshooting guides, and known issues to build a robust knowledge base
What you need to succeed:
BSc in Computer Engineering / Science, Information Systems Management or relevant field. MSc in relevant topic is desirable
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the development, monitoring and/or support of enterprise SW applications
At least 2 years of experience in leading a development or application support team
Experience in industry-standard development frameworks and tools such as Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Junit, JavaEE/JakartaEE, Docker, Kubernetes, Wildfly, Redis, RabbitMQ.
Experience in industry-standard relational and non-relational database systems such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MongoDb
Experience in configuration management tools (puppet/ansible)
Experience in monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana) and alerting tools (ElastAlert, Nagios)
Experience in version control tools like Git, Subversion
Familiar with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Agile practices
Solid understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Familiarity with Linux systems
Experience in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS will be considered a plus
Ability to multi-task and rapidly switch context
