You have a challenging mission to:

Ensuring the availability and reliability of the fiber optic network through effective supervision of subcontractors, fault restoration coordination, and performance monitoring. Key duties include developing maintenance guidelines, managing emergency and scheduled works, evaluating subcontractor KPIs, overseeing inventory, and generating operational reports. The role also involves coordinating internal and external resources for rapid fault resolution and working in rotating shifts to provide continuous 24/7/365 network support.

What will you do:

• Provide detailed and well-structured guidelines for fiber optic maintenance.

• Coordinate subcontractors during emergency and scheduled maintenance works.

• Supervise subcontractors’ restoration activities to ensure quality and compliance.

• Investigate and coordinate contractor field crews for the restoration of faults reported on the fiber optic network.

• Monitor and evaluate all subcontractor KPIs to ensure service level compliance.

• Track remaining resources and manage materials inventory in collaboration with the contractors.

• Generate RFO (reason for outage) reports on emergencies and scheduled works based on agreed KPIs.

• Manage subcontractor certification and invoicing processes.

• Coordinate internal and external resources to accelerate network restoration.

• Perform duties in a shift-based system designed to maintain seamless coverage for network fault resolution and critical tasks.

• Maintain uninterrupted service by working in shifts to handle high-priority incidents and safeguard network performance.

It would be great if you have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Telecommunications, or related Engineering field.

• CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) certification is considered an asset.

• Knowledge and hands-on experience on ArcGIS and network ticketing systems (e.g. Atlassian JIRA, Remedy).

• Knowledge of safety procedures, techniques, and equipment.

• Knowledge of fiber network construction and splicing.

• Experience in civil works related to fiber optic network deployment or maintenance.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to design and optimize operational processes. 

• Project Management, time management and problem-solving skills.

• Negotiation and analytical skills to assess special situations.

• Ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward emergencies or scheduled works completion.
