NTT Data Greece team is looking for a Network and Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Athens to work with our clients in the European public sector.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network and Security SME to provide expert-level guidance on the design, implementation, and management of secure network infrastructures. The SME will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s network and security posture aligns with industry best practices, compliance requirements, and evolving threat landscapes.

Your role:

• Serve as the primary expert on network architecture, security protocols, and threat mitigation strategies.

• Design and review secure network solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.

• Lead security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing initiatives.

• Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and compliance teams to ensure secure deployment and operations.

• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.

• Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and recommending improvements.

• Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001).

• Provide training and mentorship to technical teams on security best practices.

• Support audits and compliance reviews by providing technical evidence and documentation.

Your profile:   

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering and cybersecurity roles.

• Deep knowledge of:

  • Network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, etc.)

  • Security technologies (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, etc.)

  • Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Network Architecture & Security

  • DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines

  • Virtualization & Containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)Data Center Operations

  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

• Strong understanding of risk management, incident response, and compliance frameworks.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Fluency in English (B2 level minimum); knowledge of another European language is a plus.

You must be eligible for EU Security Clearance (at least 5 years of EU nationality in required).

*This role may require flexibility, including shift-based work and on-call responsibilities, depending on operational needs.
