Starting with the role:

Currently, we are searching to hire a Tax Specialist who will ensure accurate and timely alignment with tax authority platforms and manages the digital compliance. This role focuses on the operational interface with local and EU tax authority systems (e.g., my DATA, IAPR, VIES, EMCS), supporting real-time tax reporting, e-invoicing compliance, and regulatory technology integration. The position also supports statutory tax filings, reconciliations, and reporting processes, ensuring tax compliance in a rapidly digitizing regulatory environment.

During your day you will:

• Monitor, manage, and maintain data submissions to tax authority platforms (e.g., my DATA, IAPR eBooks, VAT returns, VIES, Intrastat, EMCS)

• Ensure seamless integration and alignment between ERP/tax systems and government portals

• Perform reconciliations between accounting books and tax filings, ensuring completeness and accuracy

• Collaborate with IT and accounting teams to resolve interface or reporting issues related to tax systems

• Stay up to date on legal requirements for electronic tax submissions, invoicing, and real-time reporting

• Support VAT, CIT, and withholding tax compliance through data preparation and filing

• Serve as a point of contact with Greek and EU tax authorities for electronic compliance topics

• Support audit requests related to digital reporting and ensure traceability of electronic records

• Assist in testing and implementing system updates in response to regulatory changes (e.g., BEPS, DAC7, e-invoicing mandates)

• Contribute to internal training and documentation of tax reporting workflows and system use

What you need to stand out:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline

• MBA or master’s degree with relevant specialization would be considered a plus.

• 2-3 years of experience in tax operations

• Knowledge of tax accounting and tax legislation (income, VAT, property tax etc)

• Working knowledge of SAP functionalities and processes.

• Excellent communications skills both verbal and written, in Greek and English languages.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).

• Analytical thinking.

• Team player.

• Organizational & time management skills
