What you'll do
- Evaluate renewable energy projects including technical and regulatory feasibility, site assessment, and permitting risks
- Coordinate and manage licensing and permitting activities for renewable energy projects with external consultants and public authorities
- Support the development phase ensuring compliance with national and EU regulations
- Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and legal teams to ensure project compliance with legislation and standards
- Monitor changes in regulatory frameworks and assess impact on project portfolio
- Provide technical input in due diligence and transaction support activities
- Prepare reports and presentations on project status, licensing progress, and risk assessment
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including local authorities, consultants, and landowners
Key requirements
- 3+ years' experience
- Licensing and permitting procedures for energy projects in Greece
- Evaluation of renewable energy projects
- Regulatory frameworks in renewable energy and their impact assessment
- Project economics and transaction understanding
- Development experience in renewable energy projects
- Stakeholder management and collaboration with engineering, environmental, and legal teams
- Technical input in due diligence and transaction support
- Report and presentation preparation
- Fluency in Greek and English
- Analytical and problem-solving skills

About the job
We are seeking a Licensing Engineer to join our Development team, supporting the evaluation, licensing, and permitting of renewable energy projects (mainly solar and wind). The ideal candidate will combine strong technical understanding with development experience and a good grasp of the transactional and commercial aspects of renewable projects.
Your role will encompass:
Evaluate renewable energy projects (technical and regulatory feasibility, site assessment, permitting risks)
Coordinate and manage all licensing and permitting activities for renewable energy projects in collaboration with external consultants and public authoritiesSupport the development phase of projects, ensuring all approvals and documentation are in line with national and EU regulations
Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and legal teams to ensure project compliance with local legislation and internal standardsMonitor changes in regulatory frameworks and assess their impact on the company’s project portfolio
Participate in due diligence and transaction support activities, providing technical input where required
Prepare reports and presentations related to project status, licensing progress, and risk assessment.Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, consultants, and landowners
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in renewable energy project development (solar, wind, or hybrid)
Proven experience in licensing/permitting procedures for energy projects in GreeceGood understanding of project economics, transactions, and regulatory frameworks in the renewable sector
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken)
