About the job

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join our team, based in Volos, Greece.

 

By joining this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern industrial data platforms and scalable data pipelines, enabling reliable, secure, and high-performance data solutions across manufacturing and operational environments.

 

Your role will encompass:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for industrial systems (CNC, PLC, SCADA, Historians).

  • Designing and implementing scalable data platforms using Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

  • Building and maintaining data ingestion, integration, orchestration, monitoring, and reliability processes using Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.

  • Developing, optimizing, and maintaining data models and transformation workflows using SQL, Python (Pandas, PySpark), and related technologies.

  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, security, and performance across the entire data lifecycle.

  • Optimizing database performance, storage, and query execution for large-scale industrial datasets.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable data architectures supporting digital transformation initiatives.

  • Supporting data governance, metadata management, documentation, and continuous improvement of data engineering best practices.

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Development, or similar roles.

  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Services, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

  • Strong SQL and Python programming skills, including experience with Pandas and PySpark.

  • Experience with streaming and event-driven data technologies such as Apache Kafka and Azure Event Hub.

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and/or SSIS for data orchestration.

  • Good understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.

  • Experience with CI/CD practices, version control (Git), and infrastructure automation is considered an asset.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
