About the job
As a Contracts Manager at Metlen you will be a fundamental part of the project management team for the construction of a CCGT Thermal Power Plant. This position will be based in Paiania, Athens.
Your role will encompass:
Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and optimize commercial outcomes across the project lifecycle.
Oversee the preparation and management of contracts related to CCGT projects, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts, PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements), O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements, and supplier/vendor contracts.
Ensure all contracts are aligned with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in close coordination with the legal team.
Manage contract execution, amendments, and close-out processes, providing direction and guidance to Project Management teams.
Identify, assess, and proactively manage contractual risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests.
Drive contract performance management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, and deliverables across all stakeholders.
Lead the management of claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes, coordinating with Project Management and relevant stakeholders.
Act as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, providing guidance and strategic input to internal teams.
Lead negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and clients to secure commercially favourable terms and manage contractual exposure.
Support and guide commercial and procurement teams in supplier evaluation, tendering, and contract award processes.
Oversee contract-related financial aspects in collaboration with project managers and finance teams, including budgets, payments, and cost control.
What you bring to the role:
MSc in Engineering , or a related discipline.
8+ years of professional experience in the construction and/or energy sector, with strong exposure to EPC or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proven experience managing complex contractual frameworks, including FIDIC.
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and influence key stakeholders.
Proven track record in managing contractual risk, claims, and dispute resolution.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
Excellent command of English.
