About the job
We are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join our Retail Portfolio Management team at Metlen’s Integrated Utility division.
In this role, you will support the Retail Portfolio Management team in monitoring and analyzing the retail electricity portfolio. You will contribute to load forecasting, market declaration follow-up, cost monitoring, settlement analysis, and reporting, helping turn data into clear insights that support day-to-day portfolio operations and decision-making.
Your role will encompass:
Supporting the analysis of retail portfolio consumption, forecast accuracy, market declarations, and settlement results across voltage levels and customer segments.
Assisting in the preparation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Day-Ahead and Intraday load declaration processes.
Tracking portfolio cost performance, identifying key variances, and preparing regular reports and insights under the guidance of senior team members.
Contributing to the development and improvement of analytical tools, dashboards, and automated reports to enhance transparency and efficiency in retail portfolio operations.
Collaborating with Retail, Portfolio Management, and IT teams to support process improvement, operational follow-up, and new business initiatives.
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree will be considered an asset.
2+ years of experience in business analysis, energy markets, retail supply, forecasting, portfolio management, or data analytics; relevant internships or academic projects will be considered an asset.
Very good Excel skills and familiarity with Power BI; knowledge of SQL, Python, or VBA will be considered an advantage.
Basic understanding of electricity markets, retail supply operations, forecasting processes, or energy cost drivers.
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, willingness to learn, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
