Based in Athens, Greece, and reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting and Tax Manager will oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with local tax legislation, and support financial reporting processes across the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as the McDonald’s Corporation to ensure accuracy in financial records, timely reporting, and adherence with corporate and statutory requirements. The role involves managing the full spectrum of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end and year-end closing processes, while ensuring full compliance with Greek tax legislation, including VAT, corporate income tax, withholding taxes, and other statutory obligations. The Accounting and Tax Manager will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting tax audits, as well as monitoring and improving internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures and lead the year-end statutory audit and prepare the financial statements.
The candidate will also be expected to participate in the development and implementation of new financial systems, tools, and procedures which enhance operational effectiveness. This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented and results-driven professional.

THE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, and has more than 3 years of experience in a similar role, with hands on experience in tax compliance, financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, and audit processes.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, coupled with commercial acumen and a can do attitude, are essential for success in this role.
Fluency in both Greek and English, proficiency with MS Office, and hands on experience with ERP/accounting systems are required.
