What you'll do
- Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning strategies
- Ensure high availability, reliability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Manage database security, user access, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade database platforms
- Support application deployments and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams
- Perform capacity planning and proactively identify opportunities for system improvements
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production support activities
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Administer relational database systems like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
- Perform database backup, recovery, replication, high availability, and performance tuning
- Write and optimize SQL and understand database architecture principles
- Use database monitoring and automation tools
- Apply security best practices and manage user access
- Troubleshoot and solve database issues effectively
- Computer Science / Information Technology / related fieldpreferred
