Your contribution to the energy transition
As our Substation Construction Manager, you will be responsible for on-site management and construction of HV substation for solar PV EPC projects in Greece, including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance, cost, quality, schedule, stakeholders’ integration, logistics and security. Focus on quality management and control is paramount. This position is regarded as a hands-on, site based, skilled construction management role.
You can look forward to the following tasks;
Accountable for the successful on-site execution of HV substation for solar PV EPC projects from construction planning and establishment through commissioning, energization and handover
Formal construction management in accordance with company procedures & processes, legislation, standards and industry best practice; including technical, cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder aspects
Substation Construction Manager will report to the Construction Site manager
Responsible for management and reporting on construction and commissioning progress (schedule, costs, risk, quality, SHE, compliance etc.)
Adopt, implement, and improve where necessary the juwi construction management standards/ processes to minimize project risk and maximize performance
Ensure compliance with all specifications and requirements in accordance with drawings and specification associated with construction, quality, testing, commissioning, and handover
Responsible for achieving construction schedule and payment milestones, including preparation / compilation of all supporting documentation
Coordination and cooperation with relevant internal and external interfaces
Ensure full compliance with the QHSE regulations, legislation, standards, codes, and requirements in the Region
Responsible for handover to O&M and/or the Owner via Construction Site manager

You impress us with these qualifications;
Engineering degree (civil, mechanical or electrical), or relevant
Minimum of 5 years construction management experience in Electrical infrastructure projects with overall responsibility, 4 years of which gained managing large scale solar PV plants with the emphasis on grid connection (HV Substation)
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally (suppliers and customers)
A proven track record in successfully delivering projects on time, on budget, safely and compliant with technical & quality requirements and relevant standards
Experience of working autonomously, as the position requires leadership, decision making and problem solving
Conversant with construction management tools (i.e. Project controls, scheduling, monitoring and document control), MS Project, MS Planner, MS Office, Autodesk BIM, Procore etc.
Demonstrable experience of construction cost, schedule, risk, technical and quality management, and quality control
Conversant with construction, environmental and safety requirements, and legislation
An understanding of standard contract forms and contract management
English and Greek: fluent speaker
Demonstrable ability to work in matrix organizations and to operate in a culturally diverse international environment
Team player with demonstrable leadership qualities
Must have experience in reading grid works standard drawings
Substation Platform construction – Earthworks
Earth grid installation including copper joints and earth tails experience
Yard stone and Kerb stone installation experience
Transformer plinth construction knowledge
Transformer bund wall and Oil dam installation knowledge
Experience on transformer slipway construction
Transformer rigging experience
Subsoil drainage installation experience
Earth resistivity and earth continuity tests knowledge
Construction of the equipment support foundations and earth tails installation experience
Equipment steel support installation
Experience in reading lattice tower assembly drawings
Primary equipment installation experience
Stringing of conductor experience and termination knowledge
Installation of control cables and protection cables experience
Control plant installation experience
Indoor switchgear installation experience
Experience on assembling and erection of gantries
Experienced and knowledge on installation of tubular bus bars, electrical equipment, earthing,
Be authorised or licensed to do HV switching, very experience on isolation protocols and usage of earth links and substation barricading principles
Knowledge and experience on overhead transmission lines will be an added advantage.
Lock Out Tag Out procedure in depth knowledge
Substation Work Permit System in depth knowledge
Control building construction experience including false floors and cable ladders installation knowledge
Logistics and material management experience
Quality management experience
In addition to the duties mentioned above, the job holder is required to carry out other duties that are in essence part of his area of activity, according to his knowledge and abilities.
National and international travel will be required in line with business requirements
