Your contribution to the energy transition
As our Commissioning Engineer, you will be actively involved in commissioning of Solar PV projects in various countries within the EMEA region with the focus in Greece. The position is site based with travelling from project to project.
An estimate of 80% travelling to various sites within Greece.
You can look forward to the following tasks:
Planning and Coordination:
Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures to ensure all systems are tested and verified according to project specifications
Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and installation teams to align commissioning activities with overall project timelines in close cooperation with the Commissioning manager
Specify test and commissioning requirements; and review test and commissioning protocols / procedures submitted by original equipment manufacturers, product suppliers and system integrators
Coordinating and Execute construction handover to commissioning
Manage external supplier on site during commissioning activity
System Testing and Validation:
You'll oversee on-site commissioning activities, ensuring proper installation, system integrity, and compliance with technical and safety standards
Conduct pre-commissioning inspections to verify that all components are installed correctly and meet design specifications
Perform functional tests on PV systems, including inverters, transformers, and other electrical components, to ensure they operate as intended
Validate system performance against design criteria and industry standards, ensuring optimal operation and efficiency
You'll conduct tests to ensure the installation meets connection standards and Grid code regulations.
Execution and supervision of SCADA system test and commissioning
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
Identify and diagnose issues that arise during the commissioning process, such as equipment malfunctions or installation errors
Implement corrective actions to resolve identified issues, ensuring systems are fully operational and meet performance standards
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards
Develop and enforce safety procedures to protect personnel and equipment during the commissioning process
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of all tests, inspections, and issues encountered during commissioning
Prepare comprehensive reports documenting the commissioning process, test results, and any deviations from design specification
Training and Support:
Provide training to O&M teams on the proper operation and maintenance of PV systems
Offer ongoing technical support to ensure systems continue to operate efficiently and effectively
Continuous Improvement:
Review and refine commissioning procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness for future projects
Incorporate feedback from project teams and clients to improve commissioning practices and outcomes
These responsibilities ensure that PV systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, ultimately contributing to the successful deployment of solar energy projects.
Your energy is required
You impress us with these qualifications:
Applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in commissioning photovoltaic plants
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of PV systems, inverters, transformers, SCADA systems, and grid code compliance testing
Familiar with commissioning protocols, industry standards, and safety regulations
Read and interpret complex electrical diagrams and schematics is a must
Able to work both independently and in a team
Experience with Insulation resistance test and related instrumentation and procedure (from 1KV to 10kV)
Experience with MV cable withstand test (VLF test)
Experience with MV/HV energization procedure
Experience with MV (fixed and withdrawable) switchgear manoeuvre
Experience in cable fault locating is nice to have
Experienced in LOTO procedure
Knowledge on configuring protection relays
Knowledge to operate testing kits like primary and secondary injection kit, HV voltage test kit Testing experience of HV protection relays, HV breakers and Transmission line
Knowledge of SCADA systems from different technologies and manufacturers is nice to have.
Troubleshooting skill
Willing to perform commissioning activity/works at site
Willing to work under pressure
Willing to travel
Fluent English Speaking and writing
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Office package and advanced MS Excel knowledge is a must
