Intellectica is recruiting a highly motivated Senior Tax Specialist on behalf of a leading Retail Company. Based in Aspropyrgos, Attiki, Greece and reporting to the Head of Tax & Accounting, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation and submission of various tax returns, managing fixed asset accounting, and providing support in day-to-day accounting tasks.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Efficiently posting expense invoices in the company’s ERP system (SAP) ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies
Preparing and submitting corporate tax returns including VAT, VIES, INTRASTAT, and Withholding tax in compliance with regulatory requirements
Managing fixed asset accounting processes including master data creation, depreciation posting, and preparation of monthly and annual reports
Reconciling supplier balances to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintaining day-to-day bookkeeping records accurately and efficiently
Providing support on various daily accounting tasks as required by the finance team
Acting as an expert in month and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and deadlines
Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; a Master’s degree is considered a plus
At least 2 years of professional experience in tax accounting; experience from Big4 companies is considered a plus
Proficiency in ERP systems, especially in SAP, is considered a strong advantage
A strong understanding of corporate tax regulations and compliance
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
Excellent knowledge of English (fluent in both written and spoken English)
Core competencies of a successful candidate:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate good time management
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
