Intellectica is recruiting an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Scientist on behalf of a newly established AI & Machine Learning startup, which will be integrated into a leading group of companies operating in the aerospace, defense, and high-technology sector. This startup aims to develop cutting-edge AI-driven solutions tailored to the aerospace and defense industry. You will join a dynamic cross-functional team and report directly to the Head of Data Science.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Leading the end-to-end development of machine learning solutions, from business requirement gathering to model deployment and evaluation

• Designing reusable components and frameworks to streamline the data science lifecycle

• Collaborating with product experts, engineers, and government stakeholders to build robust AI models and data pipelines

• Supporting business development efforts by translating technical capabilities into strategic value

• Overseeing the full ML development process including data exploration, feature engineering, model training, validation, and monitoring

• Communicating technical results clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences

• Partnering with ML engineers to enhance the company’s analytical and ML platform capabilities

• Evaluating and testing emerging data science tools and technologies

• Contributing to the evolution of the company’s ML-Ops operating model

• Representing the company at internal meetups and external conferences

• Mentoring junior data scientists and fostering a culture of continuous learning

 Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• Graduate degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, or a related quantitative field

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence

• Advanced proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, Keras)

• Experience with end-to-end ML workflows and deploying models in production

• Skilled in handling complex, large-scale, and unstructured datasets

• Familiarity with data parallel processing frameworks is highly advantageous

• Hands-on experience with ML-Ops practices and real-time model performance monitoring

• Knowledge of computer vision algorithms (e.g., R-CNN, YOLO) is a strong plus

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with modern AI techniques including large language models and computer vision

• Familiarity with the AI ecosystem (e.g., Hugging Face, Ray Framework) is a plus

• Proficient in Greek and English
