Intellectica is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the Accounting & Tax team of an established advisory firm. Based in Athens the ideal candidate will be responsible for multiple client engagements, provide strategic guidance, and ensure high-quality deliverables. The successful candidate will play an integral role in reviewing accounting entries, preparing financial statements, and processing monthly and annual tax returns.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Prepare and review complex accounting entries and reconciliations under Greek GAAP and IFRS

• Compile financial statements and management reports for clients across various sectors

• Oversee the preparation and timely submission of VAT, income tax, and other statutory filings

• Validate and reconcile data submitted via the MyDATA platform, resolving discrepancies

• Conduct tax and accounting research to support client queries and ensure compliance

• Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards, and communicate updates internally and externally

• Act as a key contact for clients, supporting them in audits and day-to-day matters

• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. payroll, audit) to ensure consistency and quality across engagements

• Supervise and mentor junior accountants, reviewing their work and providing technical guidance

• Contribute to internal process improvements and knowledge sharing

• Travel to client sites when needed for operational support and relationship management

• Any other tasks that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a University or Technological Educational Institute; Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications are a plus

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting & tax advisory services

• Solid understanding of Greek GAAP; exposure to IFRS and construction sector accounting is desirable

• Extensive experience in tax processing

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting softwares

• Fluent in Greek and English
