Intellectica is recruiting a PCB Engineer on behalf of a leading high-tech company with a strong international presence. Based in Athens, Attiki, the role reports to the Director of Electronics and forms part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Optical, Mechanical, FPGA, and Software Engineers to define, design, and produce electronic circuits for the organization’s product line, contributing to the definition and development of new electronic systems, while playing an active role in supporting both team advancement and overall organizational growth.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Contribute to the end-to-end design and development of electronic hardware, supporting the creation, validation, and production of advanced PCB-based systems
Collaborate closely with System, FPGA, and Software Engineers to define system architecture, electronic design specifications, and hardware requirements
Convert system block diagrams and functional specifications into detailed electronic schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts
Design and develop high-performance mixed-signal and digital PCBs, ensuring reliability, signal integrity, and compliance with system-level requirements
Prepare and release manufacturing documentation, including fabrication drawings, assembly files, and Bills of Materials (BOM), while coordinating with suppliers and monitoring PCB production
Develop, document, and maintain PCB verification and testing procedures to ensure design performance and compliance with technical specifications
Perform hardware validation, testing, and characterization of PCBs using laboratory instrumentation and benchtop electronic measurement equipment
Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of professional experience in PCB design, development, and hardware testing/verification
Proven experience in the design and development of mixed-signal and digital PCBs
Strong background with PCB schematic capture, multi-layer PCB layout, and hardware validation
Hands-on expertise with circuit and PCB simulation, including mixed-signal and signal integrity (SI) analysis tools (e.g., Ansys SIwave)
Proficiency using PCB design tools such as Altium Designer
Practical knowledge with hardware debugging, PCB rework, and the use of laboratory instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters)
Good understanding of mixed-signal and digital circuit design, including sensor interfaces, ADC/DAC pipelines, high pin-count components, high-speed interfaces (e.g., DDR, SerDes), impedance control, and familiarity with FPGA-based systems-on-board
Core competencies of a successful candidate:
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with keen attention to detail
