About the job
The Operations Director will play a pivotal role in driving performance, fostering operational excellence, and ensuring consistent service quality across all functions.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Lead the full spectrum of branch operations, including logistics coordination, client service, and team management
Contribute to the company’s strategic direction by identifying growth opportunities and operational improvements
Own the branch’s P&L, budgeting, and cost control, ensuring profitability and financial discipline
Ensure seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners (e.g., subcontractors, carriers)
Monitor and improve operational KPIs such as delivery times, load optimization, and service accuracy
Manage and develop a cross-functional logistics team, including warehouse staff, planners, and drivers
Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Act as the senior point of contact for strategic clients, ensuring responsiveness and relationship continuity
Resolve escalated issues with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach
Lead change initiatives to modernize systems, processes, and service delivery
Oversee the implementation and integration of logistics systems (e.g., routing software, WMS, ERP)
Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and internal policies
Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, maintaining business continuity
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous
Minimum 6 years of proven experience in a senior operations leadership role
Prior experience in freight forwarding or logistics sector is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end branch operations, including logistics, client service, and team leadership
Strong understanding of transport regulations, safety standards, and operational compliance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with ERP, WMS and CRM systems
Fluency in English and Greek

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
