Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Site Engineer on behalf of its client, a leading engineering & construction group with nationwide operations and a strong footprint in energy, industrial and infrastructure projects. The position is based in Lavrio, Attiki and will report to the Technical Director. The successful candidate will oversee the mechanical scope of works across a multi‑building redevelopment project, ensuring high‑quality execution, technical compliance and seamless coordination with civil, electrical and H&S teams.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Overseeing the mechanical engineering scope of a large‑scale reconstruction and production‑facility project, ensuring safe, timely and technically sound execution across all phases
Mechanical Design Review & Technical Alignment
Reviewing mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and installation requirements related to fire safety, HVAC, ventilation, hydraulics and industrial‑production systems
Ensuring full alignment between mechanical studies and civil, structural and electrical designs throughout the project lifecycle
Identifying design gaps or constructability issues and proposing practical engineering solutions
On‑Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
Monitoring daily work on site to verify adherence to technical specifications, project timelines and quality standards
Supervising subcontractors and ensuring proper installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems across all buildings under reconstruction
Conducting inspections, validating method statements, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
Maintaining accurate records including site logs, inspection reports, material approvals and handover documentation
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Collaborating closely with civil engineers, electrical engineers, the Quality Controller, and the Health & Safety team to ensure cohesive project delivery
Liaising with vendors and suppliers to verify technical compatibility and timely delivery of mechanical materials and equipment
Supporting resolution of on‑site technical issues by providing clear direction and engineering judgment
Project Support & Operational Contribution
Assisting the Technical Director in progress monitoring, reporting, planning updates and risk identification
Contributing to continuous improvement of site processes, documentation and coordination practices
Any other work that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
BSc in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
MSc or MBA will be considered a strong asset; additional technical certifications will be considered a plus
At least 8 years of experience in construction, industrial or large‑facility projects with strong exposure to mechanical installations
Solid understanding of fire safety systems, HVAC, ventilation, hydraulics and mechanical design principles
Demonstrated experience supervising on‑site mechanical works and coordinating effectively with civil, structural and electrical teams
Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and interpreting technical drawings
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with prior experience in ERP systems considered an advantage
Familiarity with project‑management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) will be viewed positively
Excellent documentation, reporting and organizational capabilities
Valid driver’s license
Fluent in English and Greek (both written and verbal)
Flexibility and ability to work across project sites throughout Greece, as required
