Intellectica is recruiting a highly skilled Hydraulic Engineer on behalf of its client, a boutique engineering consultancy based in Athens, dedicated to delivering high-quality hydraulic and water infrastructure studies and design, primarily for infrastructure projects across Greece. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and contributes critically to the design, modeling, and execution of hydraulic engineering studies within multidisciplinary project teams.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conduct comprehensive hydraulic studies and design for public works and infrastructure projects

  • Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and GIS-based platforms

  • Execute hydraulic calculations, system performance assessments, and scenario analyses to support design decisions

  • Produce and review engineering drawings using AutoCAD 2D and Civil 3D

  • Utilize GIS tools for spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualization related to hydraulic systems and infrastructure

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, engineering drawings, and project documentation in accordance with Greek legislation, national specifications, and applicable EU directives

  • Ensure all study outputs meet required quality assurance, accuracy standards, and project-specific requirements

  • Collaborate internally and with external partners to ensure smooth project coordination

  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks and client expectations

  • Support the preparation of tender documentation, including cost estimates, technical proposals, and coordination with vendors

  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and public sector authorities as needed

  • Any other work that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying / Geomatic Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in hydraulic studies and water infrastructure projects, preferably involving public works

  • Familiarity with Greek public works standards, environmental permitting processes, and relevant engineering codes

  • Proven proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Civil 3D

  • Strong experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and GIS applications

  • Good knowledge of MS Office

  • Fluency in Greek and English

Core competencies of a successful candidate:

  • Attention to detail and technical accuracy

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, technically driven team
