Intellectica is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Datacenter Engineer on behalf of a leader in the global mobility industry. Based in Athens, Greece, and reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing the company’s datacenter infrastructure.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Designing, implementing, and managing the company’s on-premises datacenter infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability
• Monitoring and maintaining server hardware, storage systems, and network components, utilizing tools such as Nagios and Grafana
• Administering virtualization technologies, particularly Microsoft Hyper-V, and support hybrid cloud integrations where necessary
• Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting x86-based server hardware, storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS), and networking components
• Managing and optimizing backup and disaster recovery strategies using tools like Veeam and NetBackup to ensure business continuity
• Overseeing network administration, including VLANs, firewalls, and IP management, ensuring a secure and efficient infrastructure
• Automating infrastructure processes through scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Collaborating with security teams to implement and maintain compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, SOC 2) and security best practices
• Participating in IT infrastructure projects, system integration testing, and the development of technical documentation
• Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• University Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Azure Solutions Architect are highly desirable
• 5-7 years of experience in datacenter engineering, system administration, or IT Infrastructure management
• Hands-on experience working in a datacenter environment, with a strong focus on on-premises infrastructure
• Proficiency in server hardware, virtualization, storage management, and networking technologies
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning, including recovery testing and implementation
• Familiarity with data security measures, including encryption, network segmentation, and firewall management
• Fluency in both English and Greek
