Intellectica is recruiting a detail-oriented Accountant on behalf of a leading economic consulting company, known for its expertise in financial and tax advisory services. Based in Athens, Greece, the successful candidate will report to the Accounting Manager and will play an integral role in reviewing accounting entries, preparing financial statements, and processing monthly and annual tax returns.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Managing client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for all accounting and tax matters
• Reviewing journal entries for various accounting categories, preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Greek GAAP and relevant accounting standards
• Preparing monthly and annual tax returns, including VAT, income tax, VIES, INTRASTAT, MyData, and withholding taxes, utilizing internal systems for efficient reporting and client access
• Conducting regular client meetings to discuss performance and provide advice
• Utilizing accounting software to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
• Staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, providing proactive advice to clients
• Collaborating with internal teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions
• Any other task that may be required from time-to-time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting from a University or Technological Educational Institute; Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications are a plus
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting & tax advisory services
• Proficiency in Greek GAAP, with exposure to IFRS being desired
• Extensive experience in tax processing
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting softwares
• Fluent in Greek and English
