regional commercial finance manager, intersport & foot locker (sportswear market)

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Regional Commercial Finance Manager to join our leadership team, based in Athens.

This role is pivotal in shaping the financial strategy of Sportswear Market, and  reports to Regional Managing Director - Sportswear Market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Sportswear Market FP&A function across Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, and Cyprus. Prepare the financial infrastructure for further expansion in the Balkans, collaborating with Fourlis Holdings financial shared services.

• Own the regional annual budgeting process and support monthly & quarterly forecasts, year-end estimates, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Provide financial insight and scenario analysis for strategic decision-making.

• Conduct in-depth analyses of operational processes and financial metrics to identify areas for improvement, proposing actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency and drive cost savings.

• Evaluate investment opportunities, store expansion or divestment projects, tech solutions, and business transformation cases.

• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement monitoring mechanisms to track financial performance, enabling timely adjustments and proactive management of financial targets.

• Monitor cost structures and operational efficiency, recommending improvements where necessary.

• Assess market, competition and customer trends and translate them into financial and strategic implications.

• Act as the finance business partner for the regional leadership team, bridging operations with financial performance.

• Collaborate with Fourlis Group shared services (Group FP&A, treasury, accounting, controlling, tax) to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and effective governance.

• Support build-up & review of balance sheet and net debt in collaboration with Fourlis Group shared financial services to identify operational opportunities & potential risks.

• Be the main Finance contact point for Intersport International, Foot Locker Inc. and all external vendors, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve partnership and address any issues.

• Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances and annual stock monitoring.

• Actively support & provide input to stock and sales plan monthly commercial review process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CFA) preferred.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic finance roles, ideally within retail or FMCG environments.

• Proven ability to work in a regional or multi-country scope with cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure; accelerate pacing of actions; collaborate for a dynamic daily management system.

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with hands-on approach to financial modeling and scenario planning.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

• Fluency in English and Greek.

• Willingness to travel across the region as needed.
