is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Numerical Analysis Team in our dynamic Engineering Department.

This role is pivotal in advancing our understanding, simulation, and validation of concepts, mechanisms, and characteristics related to the performance and reliability of both land and submarine power cable systems. The successful candidate will focus on developing solutions to mechanical engineering challenges throughout the lifecycle of our cable products, utilizing both theoretical and experimental approaches, including state-of-the-art analytical and numerical models. In parallel, they will support the Engineering Dpt. with the necessary, already obtained knowledge in order for it to chase and achieve commercially attractive cable projects.

Responsibilities:

• Development of Novel Mathematical Models: Create and refine advanced analytical and numerical models to enhance cable system performance.

• Risk Analysis: Evaluate risks associated with the manufacturing and operation of cable products, proposing mitigation actions and design adjustments.

• Experimental Design: Design and implement advanced test rigs and experimental protocols to assess the lifetime and reliability of cable products, considering various failure modes and aging mechanisms.

• Technical Support: Provide technical support and consulting services within the company and to external customers, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

• Data Management and Processing: Manage and assess data related to cable performance and reliability.

• Project Management: Lead and participate in multidisciplinary projects, ensuring effective collaboration and timely completion.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in structural engineering, mechanical fatigue, thermo-mechanical behavior, metal processing, and material characterization.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in FEM software (e.g., ANSYS or similar), and programming languages such as Matlab and/or Python.

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in modeling, simulations, and mechanical testing.

• Language Skills: Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
