About the job

Fraport Greece is currently looking for a Noise & Air Quality Expert in the Environmental Management team to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be responsible for noise and vibrations, as well as for air quality and climate protection (emissions) according to the ISO 14001 standard, aiming to ensure environmentally safe operations, compliance with E&S legal and other requirements and relevant standards, as well as continual improvement of the E&S performance in line with the corporate values and goals.

The role is located in our Headquarters in Marousi.

What you will be doing:

  • Plan, execute and coordinate assigned E&S actions and projects to achieve compliance of Fraport Greece with its E&S legal and other requirements as well as for the continual improvement in the assigned E&S aspects.

  • Conduct GHG calculations for the ACA certification and Decarbonization Master Plan of Fraport Greece.

  • Participate in the risk assessment of the assigned E&S aspects.

  • Conduct assessments, research, and analytical studies on the assigned E&S aspects.

  • Coordinate the operation of noise, vibrations, and air quality systems and associated monitoring programs.

  • Monitor the performance of the assigned E&S-related procedures by using performance indicators.

  • Support the budget preparation for the assigned E&S aspects.

  • ·Stay updated with respect to legal and other requirements and standards on the assigned E&S aspects and propose Action Plans.

  • Conduct inspections and internal audits, and participate in external audits.

  • Review documents, ensuring environmental considerations are incorporated into projects.

  • Provide guidelines and training to the Airports and third parties in the assigned E&S aspects.

  • Contribute to reports on the assigned E&S aspects.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering is required.

  • A Master’s degree or professional experience in a relevant field (Environmental/Air Quality/Noise) would be considered a strong asset.

  • Knowledge of Noise and Air Emissions Modelling tools is required.

  • Experience in noise mapping and air emissions inventories is required.

  • Fluency in Greek and English (verbal and written at a professional corporate level) is required.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office tools is required.

  • Fulfilled military obligations (if appropriate).

In particular, Fraport Greece has delivered five brand new terminals, expanded and modernized five existing terminals, and upgraded four other terminals. Construction projects at airside operational areas of the regional airports included renovating 12 runways, improving ramp areas, and constructing and renovating 12 fire stations. All of the airports have also been equipped with new state-of-the-art baggage handling and security systems.

The 14 Greek regional airports project is one of the largest and most beneficial investments and is a basis for boosting the Greek economy. Fraport Greece enhances the airports’ international competitiveness by the optimization of operational processes, the modernization and upgrade of the airports’ infrastructure and the continuous training of employees.
