Key requirements
- 3+ years' experience
- Expertise in Custody Operations and Securities Settlements
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards including ISO 15022 and ISO 20022
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and familiarity with new technologies such as Gen AI and Robotics
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and collaboration abilities
- Validation and second level checks experience
- Solution oriented attitude, agility, and effective issue resolution skills
- Finance / Economics / Quantitative Fieldpreferred

About the job
We are seeking a detail oriented and highly motivated professional with strong expertise in Custody Operations to join our team as Custody Operations Administrator at the Foreign Markets Settlements Team, within the Custody Operations Unit.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing, validation, and monitoring of securities settlement activities across Foreign Markets, ensuring full compliance with operational procedures, control frameworks, and service level standards.
The Custody Operations Unit provides Custodian and Sub Custodian services to Institutional Clients, Mutual Fund Management Companies, Insurance Companies, Investment Firms, and the Bank’s broader client base. The role involves close collaboration with internal Bank Units, Foreign Sub Custodians, market participants, and counterparties, contributing to the delivery of high quality custody and settlement services across Europe, the USA, Australia, Asia, and other global markets.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Perform second level checks and validations of securities settlement transactions across Foreign Markets (approximately 35 global markets).
Ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of settlement activities in line with established operational procedures and controls.
Communicate with Sub Custodians, counterparties, and market participants to resolve issues related to validation and pre matching of settlement instructions.
Review, validate, and authorize SWIFT settlement messages in accordance with applicable standards and internal guidelines.
Act as a point of contact for internal and external client requests, ensuring prompt, accurate, and professional support.
Collaborate closely with other Bank Units, as well as with Foreign Sub Custodians and counterparties, to ensure smooth operational flows.
Identify and escalate operational issues and settlement discrepancies as required.
Participate in cross functional projects, initiatives, and process improvements related to Foreign Markets Settlements.
You will be a great candidate if you:
Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in Custody Operations and/or Securities Settlements.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field of study; a postgraduate degree will be considered an additional asset.
Have solid knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards, including ISO 15022 (MT5xx) for settlements and ISO 20022 for payment messages.
Hold relevant professional certifications from the Bank of Greece, ATHEX CSD, or CSE (ΣΤ1, ΠΕΑ, ΠΔ).
Are fluent in both Greek and English, written and verbal.
Are proficient in the MS Office suite and familiar with the use of new technologies (Gen AI, Robotics, etc.).
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, agility, and a proactive, solution oriented attitude.
