energy portfolio manager

We are seeking an experienced Energy Portfolio Manager to oversee and optimize our energy portfolios, including Renewable Energy Sources (RES) aggregation and retail energy contracts. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing strategies to balance supply, demand, and financial performance while ensuring compliance with market regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and experience in energy trading.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize energy portfolios, including RES aggregation and retail energy contracts.
• Develop strategies to balance supply, demand, and financial performance within the portfolio.
• Execute energy trades across European markets to maximize portfolio value.
• Analyze market trends and conditions providing actionable insights into market opportunities and risks.
• Manage interactions with brokers, counterparties, exchanges, and auction offices to ensure seamless operations.
• Develop and enhance analytic models and forecasting tools to support decision-making.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes in the energy sector (Greek and EU frameworks) and ensure compliance.
• Assess the impact of regulatory updates on portfolio strategy and performance.
• Prepare and deliver periodic and ad-hoc reports, including PnL statements and KPI analyses.
• Oversee budget calculations and cash flow monitoring to ensure financial health.
• Perform financial reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of long-term strategies for portfolio growth and risk management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Mathematics.

Master’s degree in Economics or Energy would be considered a plus

At least 7 years of experience in energy markets trading/analysis.

Technical Skills: Trader certifications (Henex – Spot/Derivatives/Gas, EEX) will be considered an asset. Programming and database skills, preferably in Python and SQL. Solid background in data analysis and machine learning techniques

Communication Skills: Strong command of the English language.
