What you'll do
- Support deployment, calibration and operation of AI vision systems for safety and environmental monitoring
- Perform system checks, troubleshooting and performance tuning with IT and vendors
- Support Health & Safety Managers in incident investigation, near-miss analysis, behavioural safety monitoring and risk assessments
- Support Environment Managers with environmental monitoring, data collection and KPI tracking
- Analyse HSE and environmental data and support report and dashboard development
- Train supervisors and operators on system use and alert interpretation
- Contribute to cross-site standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives
Key requirements
- AI vision systems calibration and cameras/vision systems
- Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management including incident investigation and behavioural safety monitoring
- Data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI
- Industrial environment familiarity and environmental monitoring
- Troubleshooting and performance tuning of technical systems
- Training and supervision, risk assessments, environmental KPI tracking
- Cross-site standardisation
- Engineering / Environmental Sciences / Applied Sciencespreferred

About the job
This role combines Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) with engineering and AI-based vision systems. The HSE Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, calibration, maintenance and continuous improvement of AI vision systems used to monitor safety, environmental compliance and operational risks. In parallel, the role will support the Environment Managers in monitoring, data collection and compliance activities, helping move both plants toward data-driven HSE management. You will act as the technical link between HSE, production and digital systems.
Responsibilities
Support the deployment, calibration and operation of AI vision systems used for:
Safety behaviour and PPE monitoring
Traffic & pedestrian segregation
Environmental risk visibility (e.g. dust, smoke, spills)
Perform system checks, troubleshooting and performance tuning in cooperation with IT and technology vendors
Support Health & Safety Managers in:
Incident investigation and near-miss analysis using video-based data
Behavioural safety monitoring and risk assessments
Support Environment Managers in:
Environmental monitoring and data collection
Environmental KPI tracking and reporting
Analyse HSE & environmental data and support the development of reports and dashboards (Excel / Power BI)
Train supervisors and operators on system use and alert interpretation
Contribute to cross-site standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial)
or Environmental / Applied Sciences
Basic familiarity with:
Cameras / vision systems
Industrial environments
Data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI)
Hands-on mindset, strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on the shop floor
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to computer vision or industrial camera systems, including AI model tuning in demanding industrial environments (e.g. glare, reflective surfaces, heat, moving equipment)
Exposure to Health & Safety processes, such as incident investigation, near-miss reporting, risk assessments, or behavioural safety programmes
Exposure to environmental monitoring and reporting, participation in audits or inspections, and familiarity with ISO 14001 and/or local environmental regulations
