lead data software engineer (databricks)

What you'll do
- Design and develop data architectures and ETL pipelines using Databricks and Airflow
- Collaborate with machine learning teams to integrate AI-driven insights into the platform
- Develop system-level improvements and components for data engineering workflows
- Optimize performance and scalability of data-intensive applications
- Adhere to software engineering standards including containerization, unit testing, linting, and code style reviews
- Maintain and improve data workflows such as Delta Lake and Delta Live Tables within Databricks
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to the data engineering team
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and offer customized solutions
- Work independently to tackle challenges and ensure project delivery
Key requirements
- Experience with Databricks including Delta Lake, workflows, and Delta Live Tables
- Skills in data architectures, data modeling, and ETL pipeline design
- Proficiency in Python and Spark/PySpark
- Knowledge of cloud platforms AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with Airflow and containerization techniques
- Understanding of performance optimization, unit testing, linting, and code style reviews
- Computer Science / Engineeringpreferred
