What you'll do
- Lead security incident and MDR escalation investigations from triage through forensic investigation, root cause analysis and remediation
- Perform daily triage, join the on-call roster and execute containment actions such as host isolation and account disablement
- Respond to email and collaboration threats, including phishing and business email compromise
- Manage vulnerability findings from multiple sources and prioritize them by risk
- Correlate threat intelligence from multiple providers and assess its business relevance
- Lead threat hunting and convert findings into new or improved detections
- Develop and tune detection rules with Security Operations Engineers and the MDR provider
- Maintain incident response playbooks and on-call runbooks, and improve response capabilities
- Participate in purple and red team exercises and apply findings to detection and response
- Contribute to rotating security operations reporting, explaining trends and proposing improvements
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Incident response, forensic investigation and on-call incident escalation
- SIEM and EDR/XDR platforms, KQL querying and detection rule tuning
- Email threat investigation
- Vulnerability management and vulnerability prioritization
- Threat intelligence, threat hunting and MITRE ATT&CK
- Cloud infrastructure and Azure, PowerShell and Python
- Computer Science / Cybersecurity / Any Field
