What you'll do
- Coordinate and oversee daily maintenance operations including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Ensure all mechanical systems and structural components are in optimal working condition
- Supervise upkeep of guest rooms, lobbies, kitchens, and outdoor spaces
- Recruit, train, and manage maintenance staff including performance evaluations and schedules
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training on equipment use and emergency procedures
- Promote a positive team environment and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- Conduct safety audits and inspections, address identified risks or deficiencies
- Keep accurate records of inspections and maintenance logs
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance concerns and provide solutions
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Continuously assess guest feedback to improve maintenance quality
- Plan and coordinate property improvement projects including renovations and upgrades
- Develop timelines, source vendors, and manage project budgets
- Collaborate with hotel management to prioritize projects enhancing guest satisfaction
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Maintenance management and preventive maintenance scheduling
- Mechanical systems knowledge including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Leadership and team management with training and development experience
- Health and safety regulations knowledge with safety meetings and audit record keeping
- Emergency repair coordination and problem-solving skills
- Budget management, project planning, and vendor sourcing
- Communication skills and guest feedback assessment
- Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineeringpreferred
