What you'll do
- Coordinate and oversee daily maintenance operations including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Ensure all mechanical systems and structural components are in optimal working condition
- Supervise upkeep of guest rooms, lobbies, kitchens, and outdoor spaces
- Recruit, train, and manage maintenance staff including performance evaluations and team development
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions
- Promote a positive team environment and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including safety codes
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
- Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance logs, and compliance documents
- Respond promptly to guest concerns related to maintenance
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Plan and coordinate property improvement projects including renovations and upgrades
- Develop timelines, source vendors, and manage budgets for projects
- Collaborate with hotel management to prioritize projects enhancing guest satisfaction
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Leadership and team management skills
- Mechanical systems knowledge including HVAC, plumbing, electrical
- Health and safety regulations knowledge and safety training
- Preventive maintenance and inspection and safety audits expertise
- Communication skills and English language knowledge
- Problem-solving abilities and team development
- Vendor sourcing and record keeping
- Project coordination and budget management
- Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineeringpreferred
