About the job
Deel is looking for a Website Localization Manager to lead and streamline our global translation and localization strategy. This role will ensure high-quality, scalable, and cost-efficient translations across all markets while enabling SEO-friendly optimisations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, managing, and optimising translated website content, ensuring it meets Deel’s global expansion goals while balancing cost, efficiency, and localization quality. You will work cross-functionally with content, SEO, engineering, and regional teams to develop a sustainable localization process that enhances Deel’s global web presence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Workflow Optimization
- Develop a scalable translation workflow that prevents content inconsistencies.
- Assess and optimise the current translation system and process.
- Ensure local pages can be optimised for SEO.
- Oversee integration of translation tools into CMS or a new dedicated localization CMS.
Quality Control & Local Optimisation
- Establish a translation review process for each language to ensure accurate, high-quality localizations.
- Work with local marketing teams to adapt translations for cultural & linguistic accuracy, not just direct translation.
- Implement a content change tracking system to prevent overwrites when updating translated pages.
- Ensure localization is aligned with Deel’s global branding and messaging but still tailored to each market.
Content & SEO
- Responsible for building, managing, and optimising translated website content.
- Enable local teams to make SEO adjustments (meta tags, URLs, internal linking) without disrupting translations.
- Ensure translated pages follow SEO best practices (structured data, hreflang tags, keyword localization).
- Collaborate with the SEO team to prioritise which pages need additional localization and customisation.
Cost & Vendor Management
- Manage the translation budget and explore cost-saving alternatives.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with translation vendors.
- Monitor and control GDN costs.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to integrate localization tools into CMS.
- Communicate translation updates and needs with content, SEO, and marketing teams.
- Align with legal & compliance teams to ensure translations meet regulatory requirements in different regions.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on translation efficiency, quality, and impact on website performance.
- Identify bottlenecks in the localization process and propose continuous improvements.
- Implement a feedback loop where local teams can request content adjustments based on market-specific needs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in website localization & translation management for global brands.
- Expertise in localization platforms (e.g., Smartling, DeepL, Crowdin, Lokalise, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of CMS platforms (Strapi, WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager, or similar).
- Hands-on experience integrating translation tools into content workflows.
- Understanding of multilingual SEO best practices (hreflang, metadata, structured data, URL structures).
- Ability to manage translation budgets and vendor contracts.
- Experience working cross-functionally with SEO, content, product, and engineering teams.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in Jira, Asana, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B SaaS, tech, or enterprise localization.
- Familiarity with AI-powered translation solutions (e.g., DeepL API).
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus, especially ES, PT, DE, FR.
- Knowledge of internationalisation (i18n) and localization (l10n) best practices.
