About the job

Demo SA, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in injectable facilities, is currently seeking for a Process Automation Engineer, who will be responsible for implementing business processes on a workflow platform to improve operational efficiency. This position is based in Tripoli.

Main duties and Responsibilities

  • Programming, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of industrial automation systems

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving automation and electrical issues in production and packaging lines

  • Modification and improvement of existing PLC programs

  • Participation in automation system upgrades and migration projects (e.g. Siemens S5 to S7)

  • Development, configuration, and maintenance of HMI systems (Siemens WinCC or equivalent)

  • Monitoring and support of SCADA systems

  • Commissioning of new equipment and automation systems

  • Installation and integration of new production equipment

  • Reading, understanding, and applying electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams

  • Support and maintenance of automation control panels

  • Collaboration with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve process efficiency

  • Ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of automation systems

Requirements

  • Degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering (TEI / AEI) with good command of technical English

  • Strong experience with Siemens PLCs (S5, S7), TIA Portal, and PLC programming (Ladder, FBD, STL), including troubleshooting, modifications, and migration projects (e.g. S5 to S7)

  • Experience with HMI (Siemens WinCC or equivalent) and knowledge of SCADA systems

  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus)

  • Hands-on experience with drives/inverters, servo motors, industrial sensors, and automation control panels

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, with experience in production and packaging lines

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational skills and structured technical thinking
