- Payment Product Development expertise
- Knowledge of SEPA Credit Transfers, Direct Debits, SWIFT MT & MX Messaging, ISO 20022, Open Banking APIs
- Understanding of IPS, AML/KYC, GDPR and regulatory compliance
- Strong skills in Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability in Customer Needs Analysis and Team Leadership

About the job
As a Senior Payments Specialist, you will lead the strategic planning and development of the Bank’s payment solutions, including domestic and cross-border payments, ensuring technological excellence, regulatory compliance, and a seamless customer experience. Acting as a key liaison between technology teams, business stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, you will contribute to the evolution of the Bank’s payment ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines a strategic mindset with a strong customer focus and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while demonstrating commitment to the achievement of both team and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Plan and propose the strategic development of payment products, including A2A, fixed, and payment solutions.
Analyze customer needs to support the development and enhancement of payment products and services.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities in the payments landscape.
Track technological developments and changes in the legal and regulatory framework affecting payment services.
Develop proposals for new payment products and service enhancements.
Analyze and evaluate the pricing strategy of payment services.
Monitor the product lifecycle, profitability, and overall performance of payment solutions.
Plan promotional initiatives aimed at increasing the Bank’s active customer base and achieving key business metrics.
Participate in the training of branch staff and contribute to the development of educational materials.
Conduct ad hoc studies and analyses on payment products and customer portfolios.
Manage relationships with external authorities and organizations, including DIAS, AADE, and other relevant stakeholders.
Prepare and monitor the annual budget of the unit.
Qualifications
University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline will be considered an asset.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in payment product development or related roles within a banking or financial services environment.
Excellent knowledge of SEPA Credit Transfers, Direct Debits, SWIFT MT & MX messaging, ISO 20022, and Open Banking APIs.
Strong understanding of IPS, AML/KYC, GDPR, and their impact on payment products and services.
Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
Very good computer skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
