Our client, an innovative B2B software startup that aims to bring new value to the Shipping community. Their vision is to completely reshape how Shipping Companies and Port Agents operate, provide transparency, and ensure efficiency for all involved parties. They add value to both sides by helping save time, cut costs and make informed decisions.

They are growing their team and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer.

As a member of their team, you will be working with technologies such as Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, React and AWS and be an integral part of designing and implementing the next generation of their product.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of software engineers as a senior team member and deliver designed, maintainable and robust solutions.
• Mentor other team members and help the team achieve its goals.
• Promote software engineering and automated testing best practices.
• Participate in the design of their product’s architecture going forward.
• Cooperate with other teams within the company as part of their analysis and planning process.

Requirements

They are looking for people with

• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering with Java
• Experience with Spring and/or Spring Boot
• Experience with relational databases and Hibernate
• Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable applications
• A deep understanding of OO programming and software engineering best practices
• A passion for code quality and appreciation of security, automated testing, TDD and release automation
• Experience working with Agile methodologies
• A desire to keep learning and evolving and the ability to pass your knowledge to others

Additionally, the following will be considered a plus

• Experience with microservice architectures
• Experience with JavaScript, Groovy or Typescript
• Experience with front end libraries and frameworks, ideally React, Redux and RxJs
• Experience with test automation libraries and frameworks such as JUnit, Spock, Selenium, Cypress, etc.
• Familiarity with Docker
• Familiarity with Cloud solutions (ideally AWS)
• Familiarity with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
