Our FinTech Project is for a leading Fintech solutions provider, offering a wide range of analytics-driven, highly scalable enterprise software solutions in over 35 countries worldwide. Their end-to-end technology solutions cover a wide range of needs for Banking, Financial Services, Utilities, Insurance, Retail organizations, and beyond.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Java Engineer will include:
Oversee the development lifecycle of projects. Analyze, design, develop Java applications and integration of complex and advanced software solutions;
Responsible for technical and design documents;
Oversee unit testing, pair reviews and code optimization to ensure quality standards are adhered to;
Deep collaboration with team members and stakeholders to comprehensively understand and effectively translate customer requirements into design specifications, and subsequently, into high-quality and reliable software code;
Be responsible for database schemas design and query optimization;
Build and maintain cloud-based enterprise applications;
Implement systems integration;
Build reusable code and libraries for future use;
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs;
Support demanding Incidents and Problems – in terms of support & maintenance of projects – by implementing bug fixes, upgrades, and enhancements to existing projects, and;
Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related subject;
More than 6 years of professional experience in application development of enterprise IT software systems and applications;
Expertise in building moderately complex front-end and back-end components of software and cloud applications such as Azure;
Strong experience of Java and Java Spring Framework in a commercial environment;
Strong experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB;
Experience in client-side scripting and React/ Redux JavaScript frameworks, and Angular;
jQuery and other related front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3;
Strong experience in RESTful APIs & SOAP integration;
Strong experience with JSON, XML, RxJava;
Experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Java Servlet containers (Tomcat);
Strong documentation skills for both front-end and back-end components, ensuring clarity for fellow developers and stakeholders;
Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to uncover root of difficult problems and scope solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines as well as awareness of vision and strategy;
Very good organizational skills, ability to deliver within strict timeframes;
Highly motivated and eager to develop professionally, and;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English.
