network & security project engineer

Our client is a leading European IT solutions provider with a strong local presence and global structure. They deliver end-to-end tech solutions across diverse industries and are now growing their operations in Greece. To strengthen their Networking & Security team, they are looking for a skilled Network Project Engineer to join their international environment and contribute to the delivery of complex and innovative network solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyze complex questions and incidents from clients and provide solutions.

• Set up new customer environments across different technologies.

• Maintain and support network components (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, wireless, etc.).

• Interact with client environments and occasionally visit customer sites.

• Investigate and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.

• Create and maintain accurate documentation, procedures, and instructions.

• Collaborate with the team to optimize and update monitoring tools.

• Participate in on-call rotation (approx. every 8 weeks) and occasional after-hours project work.

Your Profile

• Experience in the Networking & Security field (at least 3 years in a similar Network Project Engineer role, or 5 years in Network Operations).

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.

• CCNA certification (CCNP or equivalent advanced knowledge strongly preferred).

• Strong knowledge of switching and routing protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VRF, MPLS).

• Proven experience with firewalling (Checkpoint, Cisco ASA), VPNs, proxies (Bluecoat), load balancing (F5), wireless solutions (Aruba), SSLVPN (F5), and authentication systems (VASCO/RSA).

• Proficiency in network monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG).

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).

• Strong track record in end-to-end project delivery: planning, design, implementation, and support.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an international environment.
